After many years of test and trial, I find that OLAY Total Effects the best with complimentary CLINIQUE mild cleanser. When I stopped using OLAY Total Effects after using for a year, my ex-colleague commented that my skin looked not same anymore. Then I realise that it could be coz of the OLAY product. Bought 2 bottles – one with UV protection and one without. My skin feels and looks so good that I go without make-up except lipstick. So good that I just wash my face with water only after lunch under hot sweaty weather. Feel anxious whether it’s okay to wash with water only?
I found that it is actually even better to wash with ONLY WATER! Because my natural oils is actually the moisturer! However, it is also advisable to put sun protection during the day when I go to work. I still prefer to stick with CLINIQUE mild cleanser in the morning and night as it assures that my skin is cleaned properly as it is exposed to dust and sweat. But during lunch, I will just splash my face with water. Hope my skin will get better and better each day!
My Face Type: Oily/Combination
Morning
Cleanser: CLINIQUE mild cleanser for dry/combination
Toner: none (no time to do this)
Moisturiser: OLAY Total Effects with UV protection
After Lunch
Sometimes with water only. Sometimes use basic Biore moisture milk cleanser but it makes my face oily. Planning to wash with water only.
Night
Make-up Remover: Loreal gentle lotion cleanser which also removes makeup (forgot product name)
Cleanser: CLINIQUE mild cleanser for dry/combination
Toner: none (no time to do this)
Moisturiser: Sometimes no need sometimes CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Moisturizing gel and eye cream which are more expensive so I am thinking of switching to OLAY Total Effects without UV protection.

I washed my face only with water for years and had great skin except for the occasional breakout and some clogged pores on my nose. Using a cleanser never seemed to change these things, but I only used cheap drugstore cleansers. I have dryish skin so I did not use a toner, but did not use a moisturizer either because I didn’t like the oily feel. However I got a facial and the facialist recommended a better face wash, toner and moisturizer. She said the toner was alcohol free, which should not dry out my skin and would help remove dead cells and reduce the clogged pores on my noes. And the moisturizer was light and would not feel oily, and would help after toner. So I tried her recommended routine and I really think my skin has improved, I break out a lot less. So I think it all comes down to finding the right product for your skin, and giving it at least a month to see if you notice a difference.
